I'll walk you through each step of prepping and sewing a pair of fur gauntlet mittens, from start to finish. All supplies and pelts (choice of beaver or raccoon) will be provided in the course and once complete, your mittens are yours to keep!
Over the course of two days, you'll learn how to repair holes in pelts, stretch and block pelts, proper method for cutting pelts using a furrier knife, pattern layout, as well as how to hand sew your mittens. wool lining and binding, and fabricate a lanyard. Once you've finished the class you'll have the skills and confidence to take what you've learned and tackle your own fur sewing projects at home!
The mittens will be constructed by hand sewing but I will have my Techsew 202 fur sewing machine on site for demonstration and participant practice.

Pack a lunch or visit the local restaurant or convenience store during our lunch breaks. Fridge and microwave available at the Lions Hall.
Please wear sturdy close toe shoes.
The class is located on beautiful Harsens Island. Take a drive around to During lunch breaks you can walk one block to the St. Clair River for freighter viewing and shopping in quaint "downtown" Sans Souci
